DR.  HÉCTOR ALVARADO TIZOL is a Maxillofacial Surgeon and a private practitioner in Law.  He had litigated many medical malpractice  cases mostly as a plaintiff attorney; among which is the case Sharon Riley vs  Dr. Edith Rodríguez Pacheco.  Dr. Celso  Victor Zeni, etals, 119 DPR 762 (1987) in which he obtained the highest award  given at that time in Puerto Rico by any Court.   He has been involved and tried other cases, both in the State and  Federal Jurisdictions, in his 34 years of practicing law.

Course Description This course has been designed to provide  sufficient legal knowledge to dentists, and auxiliary personnel in the health  professions so they will learn how to avoid a medical malpractice suit, prevent  the lawyers to file frivolous medical malpractice causes of action; and enable  the judges deciding those cases to do real justice to the parties involved.   • Recognize situations  when there is malpractice.
  • Evaluate these  situations.
  • How to avoid malpractice  suit.
