[Online Registration] Friday, May 29, 2015 Location: Auditorium B-103 – UPR School  of Dental Medicine Duration of the Activity: 7:30 am – 8:00  am Registration / 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Course Tuition: $125.00 Dentist Speakers: Dr. Gina Murillo & Dr.  Ottón Fernández DR.  GINA MURILLOwill present her study that confirms for   the first time that AMBN mutations cause  nonsyndromic human AI and that mouse models with disrupted Ambn function are  valid. Dr. Murillo is the director of the Macro Research Program and Professor  at the University of Costa Rica – School of Dental Medicine. DR.  OTTÓN FERNÁNDEZ- will present his finding of 17 years of  collaborative research on 3D analysis for the evaluation of distortion of  different Impression materials. Dr. Fernandez is the Director of the Graduate  Programs and Professor at the University of Costa Rica-School of Dental  Medicine. Course Description The Office of the  Assistant Dean of Research (ODAI) and the Graduate Programs promote the  formation of highly trained and specialized dentists in the diagnosis, prevention  and treatment of the population through an Evidence Based framework. In order  to accomplish that mission a collaborative agenda has been set throughout the  time. As part of the agenda, different scientific meetings are developed to  share and disseminate Graduate Students’ research projects. Course Objectives At the conclusion of this course, the  participant will:
  • Establish and appraise study designs,  scientific evidence and determine the effectiveness of clinical interventions.
  • Describe different, in-vivo and in-vitro,  technics and use it as diagnostic aids necessary for the comprehensive  analysis, prognostic and treatment plan of each patient.
  • Apply research concepts and methods.
